Since our founding in 2001, we have sought to build our reputation as responsible stewards and citizens. In recognition of the important role that environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) factors play in risk management and responsible portfolio management, it is our policy to integrate the consideration of ESG factors into investment decisions and ownership practices.
We became a signatory of the United Nations backed Principles for Responsible Investment (the “Principles”) in 2022 and our ESG Policy is consistent with the Principles. Through a variety of mediums, we seek to consider ESG issues in connection with our investment processes, such as when screening portfolio companies for potential investment, during due diligence, while monitoring our portfolio company investments, and/or in our interactions with portfolio company senior management. Our representatives usually serve on the governing bodies of our portfolio companies, enhancing our ability to influence the approach to ESG issues addressed by our portfolio companies.
